Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation refers to areas or spots of the skin that are darker than the rest. These patches are caused by excess melanin production. Hyperpigmentation can happen for a variety of reasons, including acne scars, sun damage, or hormone fluctuations. Laser treatments are an effective way to even out dark spots on the skin.

We treat hyperpigmentation by exposing the area to short pulses of high-powered light beams from the laser device. This breaks down the melanin that causes dark spots. The melanin is absorbed by the body resulting in reduced visibility of hyperpigmentation.

The treatment time is quick and you will see results within one session. It should only take a few sessions for the hyperpigmentation to essentially disappear. Lasers provide non-invasive treatments, after your session you may have redness or swelling (like a sunburn), but this will go away after about 48 hours.
